Realise a Dream
In 2002, my partner and I realised one of our dreams when we bought a derelict, old farmhouse in a traditional village in South West Turkey. We had been coming to this region of Turkey for more than 15 years and had talked many times about the possibility of being able to have our own place in the sun.
Previously it never felt right and there was always a reason not to buy; interest rates were too high, we were busy pursuing our careers, we had no free time, we were not ready to take a risk. We couldn't see the possibility; we just heard all the reasons why it wasn't a good idea and got on with living our lives.
So what changed? We did.
Instead of drifting along we began to consider what we really wanted and to do something about it. So, we bought our ruined farmhouse and began renovating it.
It wasn't always easy. It took a lot of hard work, vision, persistence and passion to transform the semi derelict building and neglected land into the stunning house and garden which today we are proud to call our home.
For us the house is a constant reminder of what can happen when we dare to turn possibility to reality.
